boo cartledge

A cute bunny peeks through the hole in a piece of embroidered cloth. Another fabulous fabric collage from Boo in her "It's Only A Book" series. I love it! The photo at the bottom shows Boo's creative experiment in displaying mailart. I'm tickled to see at least three of my etegami on her Art Tree.

This is an over-sized etegami that came in response to my Japan-only call for etegami on the theme of tulips. It was too long to scan in its entirety, but I wanted to post part of it here as a preview of an upcoming tulip exhibit on my etegami blog. The illustrations on the self-made envelope have a story of their own-- but I'll have to save that for the exhibit. he he. Visit my etegami blog on Wednesday.

singapore philatelic museum

At the beginning of 2010 (the year of the tiger), I submitted a piece from my Tiger Etegami series to the Singapore Philatelic Museum's call for postcards and/or stamps on the theme of tigers. A couple days ago, I received this beautiful postcard in reply. The submissions collected from this call will be exhibited at the museum until August of this year.

wOOt! After more than a two-month delay, the missing packet of cards from Wilma finally reached me. The packet included three picture postcards of Gaspésie and an old recipe card from Quaker Oats with a couple of surprisingly exotic recipes (one on each side). Note the Olympic stamps!

There's an old-timey, nostalgic feel to this collage of market and farm scenes. Thanks, Megan!

This retro collage, which looks like it comes from a long-ago women's magazine, arrived in an envelope made from pages of an old cookbook. Thanks, Helen!

roland halbritter

An invitation to participate in the "Otto von Bismarck" call arrived from Roland in Germany. The artwork is by Servane Morel (Belgium). You can find more of Servane's work, as well as a piece from Roland, among the earlier posts on this blog. Take a look at the pieces that have already been sent in to this mail art call. http://bismarck-mail-art.blogspot.com

Oh my. Here's a second card from Atte with those treasure map shapes and mysterious list of numbers on the back. I wonder if more are coming, and if I will ever figure out if there's a hidden message?

My Google Translator says the words mean "Appearances Deceive." I hope that's correct. I also wanted to show you the colorful postage stamps she used. Thank you Maria!

rachel freeman

Rachel sent me one of her trademark ATC-sized photo-collages in beautiful sunset colors and a set of new prints. Thanks Rachel!

This card looks like a treasure map and has a mysterious series of numbers on the back, but I have no idea how to "decode" it. How am I to unlock the mystery! Another cool thing about this card is that the postage stamp has braille on it. It's the first time I've seen anything like it.

patrizia (tictac)

This luscious food-themed card comes with the wonderful saying: "Life is uncertain Eat dessert first." The fresh fruit and rich cake look so delicious, I could almost lick the card. The image at the bottom is the clever and humorous documentation Patrizia sent out to all who participated in her "Bubbles" mail art call. Thanks, Patrizia!
