David's October creation is a some kind of blood-sucking Halloween bug. It looks like it's doing its best to be horrid and chilling, but I doubt I'm the only one that thinks it's utterly adorable. (am I?)

A welcome response to my "gift/giving" mailart call, these etegami are painted on the washi-like paper towels that Katerina says she found at a hotel in Athens. The paper is white, but she glued it onto a bright green background to produce the soft green of the top card. The paper of the bottom card is folded around the back like a package would be folded-- a clever extension of the gift-theme.

From Boo's book deconstruction series (see link to It's Only a Book). Fabric background glued to a cereal box cut-out and decorated with a row of fish-shaped dangly things. Makes me smile.

From top to bottom: "Fruit of the Season," "From the Tree as Winter Comes," and "In the Beginning of Winter." Katerina says she found some interesting paper at a deluxe hotel in Athens that has many of the qualities of Japanese washi, and has been having a great time playing with it. These are all wonderful pieces, Katerina. Very much like traditional etegami, but unique in texture.

A bumpy, raised orange spiral printed onto a smooth background of deep, rich colors. The scan doesn't do the colors justice.
