Apparently spring is in full swing in Nice, France. The spider hanging from its web is in the shape of the character for Spring! We still have snow on the ground here in northernmost Japan, but not for long. : )

From sunny Nice, Yun sent me these four "etegami" images of pieces she submitted to the 127th Carnival of Nice. She says the theme for this year's carnival, which ended on March 8 (Mardi Gras), was "King of the Mediterranean." Fabulous colors, Yun! Thank you for sharing the images and the interesting information about the carnival.

This etegami-style mailart, which Yun drew as part of a "Fete des Roses" series seems to have been painted on a thin sheet of washi and then glued to the card. It has a very nice texture. The name seal in the shape of a butterfly adds extra charm. Thanks, Yun!

My first Valentine's Card this year. Obviously someone was paying attention when I sneaked in the half-in-jest request on my etegami blog. The tiger orchid is lovely, but what does it say for my character that my eyes keep going to the side of the card with the raspberry dessert? The address label on the lower edge of the card popped right off when I tried to see if there was any more of the dessert pictured underneath it. oops.

This watercolor mailart from France was created in response to the Etegami Recipe Card post on my Etegami blog. I'd been considering a MailArt Call on the theme of Food/Recipes, and this drool-worthy card settled it. Details of the MailArt Call are on the right side of my Etegami blog near the top.
