This is Andy's drawing of a comic character called Usagi Yojimbo. The comic's creator and its fans are based in the US, apparently, so I'd never heard of it until I googled it today. Mailart can be very educational. :p

I checked Kiera's website and discovered that she is traveling in Europe at the moment-- Traveling with "pens and paper, my laptop and a mini-scanner" so that she can keep making, documenting, and sending mailart from where ever her travels take her!! That's dedication!

A booklet of six tanka poems arrived from a fellow IUOMA member in the UK. All eight segments of the booklet are printed on the same side of one sheet of paper. It folds up so that the image of the head is on the front page, with Lee's name and address on the back.

I was very pleased to get this card on a proverbs theme, a theme I introduced on my etegami blog, but without making an official mailart call. The thing is, this card even fits into my 2010 mailart call on the theme of Food-- in this case: the "lack of food." Truly, there but for the grace of God go I.
